In 1990, Volkswagen introduced a protection kit for the front drive shaft outer constant velocity (CV) boots on Syncros. Like others before us, GoWesty has adopted VW’s original design, and added a few minor modifications to get you the protection you need. We trusted these flaps to keep our CV boots safe in the NORRA Mexican 1000, and they worked like a charm!

If you take a peek at your front end, you’ll see that your outer CV boots are exposed to all kinds of road hazards. In everyday driving, these exposed boots are rarely ever damaged, however, when one ventures off-road, sticks and stones can bring an abrupt end to an otherwise healthy boot. Replacing a boot on the trail is a major pain-in-the-you-know-what, so save yourself some grief and install a set of these super simple guards to deflect anything you drive over from causing harm.
